About Breanna...
Except for her wheelchair, at first
glance, the smiling, delightful Breanna seems like any
other child her age...until you see how rigid and contorted
her body can be. At three months, Breanna’s parents
noticed that she was unable to do the basic things that
most babies can do, like grabbing objects.
When she failed to reach other milestones,
her parents went from one specialist to another seeking
answers until the devastating news came: Dystonia.
Breanna is now six-years-old and in
the first grade, in a traditional classroom setting
with a para-professional assisting her. While other
children her age are running and playing, she still
cannot crawl, walk, roll over or “play.” Even grasping
a toy is nearly impossible...plus her speech is affected,
often making it difficult to understand her. And even
though she is in pain a great deal of the time, Breanna
is a happy child, beautiful, exceptionally bright, and
brings great joy to everyone who meets her.
As soon as On Perfect Wings
was finished at Nashville’s Arctic Sound Recording Studios,
Breanna’s step-grandmother Nancy Vogl, who is one of
the songwriters, sent it to Breanna for her approval.
Upon hearing her special song she lit up saying, in
her delicate and in an unusually clear voice,“I really
love my song!” - to which the songwriters all promptly
burst into tears! This is the perfect song for a perfect
angel.
